Manifesto

We are water. Water is us.

In every drop that courses through our veins, in every tide that reshapes our shores, we find ourselves reflected, connected, inseparable. Submergence|y| has emerged for us as a radical call to dive deeper, to dissolve the false boundaries between human and water, arts and science, economy and value. We reject the illusion of separation.

For too long, we’ve stood at the water's edge as observers, consumers, users and abusers. No more. We plunge into relationships with rivers that remember and oceans that breathe. We recognise water not as resource but as kin, not as subject but as co-creator.

We are an uprising of artists and researchers, committed to creating projects that connect people with the ocean through art, education and storytelling. As rivers run dry, and seas rise, we form our alliance with urgency. We honor and amplify First Nations knowledge holders who have always understood what the colonial mind forgets: that water is honoured as teacher, ancestor, medicine, wisdom we desperately need to survive.

Our practice is immersion itself.

We do not aim to study, depict or represent water. We enter into creative partnerships; we listen; we learn. Every piece we create is co-authored by the waters we work with.

We believe that art born from watery collaboration has the power to transform consciousness.
